The major purpose of this course is to help you improve your creative writing skills. A secondary objective will be to provide you with greater technical control over your work and also help you develop your critical reading skills. By the end of the semester, I hope that you will have developed a keen, critical eye. Furthermore, I hope that you will begin to gain a sense of your own personal voice and a greater awareness of the subjects and styles that interest you the most. Finally, I hope you have fun and develop a supportive circle of creative writers with whom you feel comfortable sharing your work. This course fulfills the Arts General Education requirement.
