ACCELERATED DEGREE PROGRAMS

Hilbert College offers qualified students the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree in less time than would typically be required.  These programs include graduate-level classes that students take while still enrolled in their undergraduate programs. 

The programs provide students the opportunity to begin graduate studies sooner with potential cost savings and a faster track to achieving career goals.

In Hilbert’s internal 4+1 programs, students spend four years at Hilbert, taking graduate level courses in their senior year that count towards their undergraduate degrees.  After completing their undergraduate degree, they then take graduate level courses to complete the master’s degree.  Degree options are Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration, Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology, Master of Arts in Cybersecurity Administration, and Master of Public Administration.  Students must satisfy all requirements for admission to the relevant graduate program.

The 4+1 Master of Science in Education, offered in partnership with Canisius University, provides a pathway for students majoring in English or Liberal Studies to earn their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years.  Eligible students will take six specific Canisius undergraduate education courses and two graduate courses that will fulfill some of their undergraduate requirements while also preparing them for a seamless transition to Canisius to complete the Master of Science in Education program and receive New York state teaching certifications in adolescent education and special education.  Hilbert students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA in relevant coursework and apply to the MSEd program at Canisius University by Feb. 1 of their junior year.  Students must satisfy all requirements for admission to Canisius’ graduate program.

Hilbert’s 3+3 program with University at Buffalo Law School affords students the opportunity to begin their law school classes while still enrolled at Hilbert College.  Students complete the requirements in their major during their first three years at Hilbert. In their senior year, students will take classes towards their law degree at the University at Buffalo, with the credits counting towards their undergraduate degree.  Upon completion of their degree at Hilbert, and having met the necessary requirements for admission to the University at Buffalo Law School, students will complete their juris doctor (JD) degree in two years.
